About Cedar Crest

Cedar Crest is the official residence for Kansas governors and first families and was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It is the smallest governor’s residence in the country, around 6,000 square feet, but resides on the largest plot of land.

The Friends of Cedar Crest Association

The primary function of Cedar Crest, the Kansas Governor’s residence on the National Register of Historic Places, is to serve as the residence for the First Family of the State of Kansas. The Friends of Cedar Crest Association is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and exists to cooperate with the First Family of the State of Kansas and the Governor’s Residence Advisory Commission for the preservation, restoration, and enhancement of Cedar Crest, and to encourage public awareness of and contribution to the historic and cultural importance of Cedar Crest. The Association’s sole purpose is to support the upkeep of Cedar Crest.
